Daniel Feferman 150x150 jpgIn this community member profile we highlight Daniel Lazkani Feferman, a Telco Cloud Senior Architect at CPqD, who is based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has been an active contributor in both the P4 and Aether communities and is also an ONF Ambassador.

Daniel started working on ONF projects in 2017, when P4 was on v14. He worked on MACSAD, a P4 software switch compiler compatible with accelerated solutions like mmap and DPDK. Since 2022 he has been an active member of the Aether community, testing and providing project feedback and regularly participating in Aether TST meetings. As an ONF Ambassador over the past two years, he has promoted ONF projects.

He is currently working on Aether as a solution to orchestrate 4G and 5G mobile networks. Aether is one of the solutions chosen to be used in the OpenRAN@Brasil program, a 5G testbed using state of the art telco open source solutions. Furthermore, he is leading the orchestration team of CPQD to achieve an automated and intelligent testbed using other open source solutions including Nephio and EMCO.

As a Telco Senior Architect at CPqD, Daniel leads the orchestration team and works with open source tools on mobile connectivity. Previously, he worked at Infosys as a Regional Service Manager for LATAM, managing the Support Operations and Projects for a Global Manufacturing Organization, and at TIM Brazil lab as a consultant designing, building and troubleshooting projects related to live network (2G, LTE, 5G, and IoT).

Daniel holds a BSc. in Telecommunications Engineering from Federal Fluminense University and MSc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Campinas.
