US-Ignite is an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with original inspiration from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the National Science Foundation. US-Ignite fosters the creation of next-generation Internet applications that provide transformative public benefit. Their work is focused in six areas of national priority: Education & Workforce, Energy, Health, Public Safety, Transportation, and Advanced Manufacturing.
US-Ignite and ONF are collaborating on projects in SDN deployments working with ONF member companies, US-Ignite, and other leading research and development organizations in academia and the private sector. They are hosting a joint workshop to further their shared work on October 8, 2013.
