ONF has been at the forefront of creating and evolving the Software Defined Networking (SDN) movement which provides network operators with the freedom to build networks that are dynamic, cost effective, flexible, secure and able to adapt to the changing landscape.

SD-Fabric creates an Ethernet fabric optimized for edge application and uses SDN control to make a spine-leaf assembly of switches appear as a virtual single routing instance to all hosts and routers connected to the fabric.

Stratum is an open source, silicon-independent switch operating system for deployment on white box switches.

P4 Integrated Network Stack (PINS) is an industry collaboration bringing SDN capabilities and P4 programmability to traditional routing devices that rely on embedded control protocols (like BGP).

Trellis is an open source L2/L3 leaf-spine switching fabric that controls a network of OpenFlow and/or NG-SDN capable Stratum switches, organizing the switches into a unified network solution. Trellis supports distributed access & edge networks, NFV and edge cloud applications.
