P4 Demo: Barefoot leaf-spine fabric controlled by ONOS using P4 Runtime

See Trail Point #15 for more detail

Visit us to see the first P4 PoC data center fabric solution. In collaboration with P4.org, Google and Barefoot Networks, this PoC will demonstrate the capabilities of the next generation of software-defined networks

P4 enables true programmability of the data plane, going beyond the reconfiguration of the dataplane currently available with first generation SDN solutions. This demo is the result of collaboration between the ONOS P4 Brigade, Google Cloud and Barefoot to demonstrate ONOS controlling a P4 fabric. The demo highlights ONOS discovering, configuring and controlling a Barefoot leaf-spine fabric using P4 Runtime, a new P4 API definition from the P4.org API Working Group.

AGENDA

CORD has emerged as a significant transformative force helping service providers reinvent the central office to bring data center economies of scale and cloud-style agility to their networks. According to a recent report by Heavy Reading “nearly 40% of all end-customers (residential, wireless and enterprise, collectively) will have service provided by COs or their equivalents using CORD by mid-2021.”

The CORD ecosystem is hosted by the ONF and supported by The Linux Foundation and organizations including leading operator and vendor partners. Learn more at www.opencord.org
