ADVA Optical Networking’s FSP 150 Carrier Ethernet product family brings the power of Carrier Ethernet to Software Defined Networking. While current OpenFlow® efforts are focused on end-to-end path provisioning, in order to be viable in the market, Service Providers must be able to re-sell these connections to end customers as services. ADVA’s FSP 150 Network Interface Devices allow the wholesaling of Ethernet services by providing network demarcation with in-service monitoring and alarming, including timing distribution. The FSP 150 family is visible to and may be controlled by external SDN controllers. Common Carrier Ethernet circuit types such as EVC’s and VLAN’s may be groomed into netflows that are reported and switched by an OpenFlow® controller.
