Dr. Prodip Sen is CTO of the Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) Business Unit at HP, where he is responsible for technology strategy and industry engagement. Prior to joining HP, Prodip was Director of Network Architecture at Verizon, where he was responsible for providing the architecture vision and strategy for the network infrastructure. He was the first Chair of the ETSI Industry Specification Group (ISG) on NFV (2012-2014). Currently, he is Chair of the Board of Directors for OPNFV, an Open Source industry activity to help accelerate the implementation of software and platforms for NFV.
Prodip has also been associated with the SDN movement since its early days, and while at Verizon, was on the Board of the Open Networking Foundation (ONF) from its inception. Prior to joining Verizon, he held positions at Polytechnic University in Brooklyn NY and at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Sen has conducted research in computer communication networks, network management, decision theory, system theory and control theory. He has taught courses in communication networks, digital communications, signal processing, and control theory. Dr. Sen is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He holds a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India.
