ONOS Toucan (V2.3) is the 20th release of ONOS. ONOS has evolved and now has an impressive 186 different extensions in the form of applications, drivers, protocol providers, YANG models, etc.

The platform has been updated to keep pace with the latest third-party dependencies and build toolchain to gain further performance, stability and security robustness. The code-base is now buildable via Bazel 1.x or 2.x. Third-party dependencies and related version information are now being automatically generated and published to Maven Central for use by archetypes and 3rd party applications. The Helm charts for deploying ONOS in a Kubernetes cluster have also been updated.

The GUI platform was upgraded to use Angular 9 and NodeJS 12. The GUI modules are now built natively Bazel rules as NPM modules, simplifying the maintenance of the build process. Furthermore, several more views have been ported to GUI 2 framework to close the GUI vs GUI2 gap.

The NG-SDN southbound interfaces also received a number of improvements and bug fixes in P4Runtime, fabric.p4, gNMI, gNOI. Also, support was added to Trellis and SEBA for BNG offloading use case using P4 & P4Runtime.
