ONF announces the latest development in its SDN skills certification program.
It is an exciting day for the ONF-Certified SDN Professional (OCSP) Program! A little over a month ago, we announced the availability of the blueprints for our beta examinations to serve as the foundational materials for exam preparation. Today, we are happy to announce that the OCSP beta exams are now available.
There are many SDN certification programs, but until this point, each has been vendor-specific. Certifying your knowledge with a specific vendor’s SDN solutions is a great thing to do, but we believe that to encourage the adoption of open SDN, a vendor-neutral testing program to certify base-level knowledge in SDN is essential. It ensures that you are prepared for whatever is thrown your way, not just one particular vendor’s products. The OCSP Program is our way to address the industry’s need.
With these beta examinations, we’re not only offering the opportunity to test your foundational SDN knowledge, but we’re giving everyone a chance to offer input on the test development process. As with a beta software release, these exams will help us to determine what works, and what could use a little fine tuning. That said, anyone who successfully takes the beta exams will receive their OCSP certification when the full program launches. And the first 100 people to take each beta exam can do so free of charge.
If you’re attending the SDN & OpenFlow World Congress in Düsseldorf this year, we’re offering a series of free training and testing sessions for attendees to participate in the beta program. Here is the schedule:
