Spirent is hosting the Fall PlugFest, giving ONF members the chance to test interoperability with other vendors.
It’s PlugFest time again! We’re excited to announce that the fourth semi-annual Open Networking Foundation (ONF) PlugFest will take place at Spirent’s facilities in Sunnyvale, Calif. on Nov. 4-8, 2013.
ONF PlugFests give vendors the opportunity to perform interoperability testing with other vendors’ software and hardware, accomplishing the equivalent of two months of quality assurance testing in about a week’s time. Twice a year, ONF member companies come together at these events with the common goals of providing end users with interoperable products, and accelerating the adoption of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and the OpenFlow® protocol. The last ONF PlugFest brought in nearly 50 network engineers from all over the world, testing OpenFlow® versions 1.0, 1.2, and 1.3 in controllers and switches in a neutral working environment.
We are thrilled by the interest from ONF member companies to host PlugFest events, and we thank Spirent for stepping up to host this one. This is going to be quite the PlugFest, and we look forward to seeing all the innovative implementations of the OpenFlow® protocol. I plan to spend some time there myself.
If you are a member company interested in hosting a future PlugFest event, please contact ONF for more information.
