ONF is pleased to announce the release of Stratum: 2021-03-31 (or 21.03 for short).

This release contains many bug fixes and new features for Stratum running on Intel® Tofino™, including support for meter entries, remote bfshell for debugging, basic port shaping configuration, and P4Runtime read improvements. The Stratum Tofino simulator can now be used in Mininet for development and testing. Stratum has been updated to the P4Runtime 1.3.0 specification (however, it is not fully compliant with some of the new semantics, which the team plans to address in the next release). Several gNMI paths in the interfaces model have been improved to return consistent values.

Stratum offers support for 8 different networking targets (ASICs, FPGAs, and CPUs) on over 20 different platforms (switches and servers). Please see the Stratum README for the latest set of supported devices.

Additionally, with the Stratum 21.03 release, we have added two new switches from APS Networks as part of ONF’s Continuous Certification Program. Here is a full list of certified Stratum targets for this release:

  • APS Networks BF2556X-1T
  • APS Networks BF6064X-T
  • Edgecore AS7712-32X
  • Edgecore Wedge100BF-32X
  • Inventec D5254

Details on the features included in this release as well as pre-built images (Debian packages and Docker containers) are available in the Stratum 2021-03-31 release notes.
