ONF Spotlight Series on Telecom Open Source Debuts in July 

First ONF Spotlight to Focus on Broadband with Live Virtual Keynotes

MENLO PARK, Calif. - June 30, 2020  - The ONF is launching an exciting series, the ONF Spotlight Series, that combines live virtual keynotes and on-demand plenary panel sessions, presentations and demonstrations. The first ONF Spotlight in the series is focused on open source Broadband related topics; additional sessions that will be conducted throughout the remainder of this year include “5G Transformation with Open Source”, “Enterprise Mobile Edge Cloud-as-a-Service” and “SDN Infrastructure”.

The ONF Spotlight - Broadband virtual event keynote featuring Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier will kick the event off on Tuesday, July 7th (7:00am-9:00am Pacific Time). The ONF welcomes Jochen Appel, Vice President, Tribe Leader Fixed & Mobile Data Platforms and Robert Soukup, Senior Program Manager from Deutsche Telekom, who will be joined by Aseem Parikh, the ONF’s Vice President of Solutions & Partnerships discussing “World’s $1T Broadband Moment!”.

Suleyman Cimen, Fixed Access Systems Architectural Manager, and Cemil Soylu, Fixed Access Network Senior Architect, for Turk Telekom, will be the featured  live virtual keynotes  July 8th (7:00am-9:00am Pacific Time), detailing access network virtualization and Turk Telekom’s access network virtualization journey. They will be joined by ONF’s  Saurav Das, VP Engineering, who will detail SEBA’s evolution in 2020 and direction going forward.

Each of the keynote presentations will be followed by interactive Q&As with webinar attendees and an engaging roundtable discussion.

Operator Insights presentations will feature British Telecom (BT), Google Fiber and Telefonica discussing their broadband networks, challenges and future. A separate Supply Chain panel discussion includes speakers from Edgecore Networks, Netsia and Radisys who will focus their discussion around the impact of incorporating open source software into commercial broadband solutions.
